DB spokes must have taken their sweet time getting to your neck of the woods. My wheels had SS .080-.060 spokes in 1967 (made in italy), and Torrington had been making them in the USA for at least 20m years before that. Not sure whether Torrington made DB spokes prior to WW II, but it's possible.
