It's more likely to be a delay on the provider's end than on the trucks--UPS isn't going to treat motorcycle parts any differently than bicycle supplies, but some suppliers can take three or four days to package things up (when I order from Rivendell, about 225 miles away in California, the stuff usually arrives the next day. They pack and ship as they take the order).
FWIW, you could have gone to a bike shop and walked out with the tires the same day, and saved shipping besides.
That's what I think too.
Frankly, I suspect that Nashbar deliberately "holds" orders for a few days to encourage you to pay the extra money for priority shipping. I don't know that for sure but that's what I think.
