As a whole, I guess I don't live in a world where I assume people won't cheat if there's a possibility that they'll get away with it. Quite the opposite: I think humans are genetically inclined toward cheating, which is how they managed to become the scourge on the planet they have.
It doesn't change the fact that I still marvel at how fast these guys can pedal a bike (not a world changing occupation, mind you) and still get up the next day to do it again. Even if I took all the EPO in the world, they'd still kick my rear.
As for the "fairness" factor, I guess I don't really care who goes the fastest, so I don't care if it was fair or not. In fact the way to make things fair is to let them dope as much as they want. That would be the level playing field everyone seems to yearn for but won't ever get with these testing regimes.
