Neither does soloing off the front for victories in cat 5 races. Seen it.
Right now we have a very talented new racer on our team. He has hardly even been on a bike and yet he has podium'd in all but one of his races so far. He's a natural. His brother is also a pro tour rider as well.
When he took 2nd in a huge road race this last weekend we all started talking to him about cat'n up. Our team captain, cat1, USAC coach, etc said he'd put in a coach's recommendation for him to cat up, etc.
His response was, "guys....I don't know about that. I still have a lot to learn about handling, etc.".....and he's right.
Cat 5 is there for a reason. Many do actually learn in cat 5.
