there are subtle differences amongst the Panasonic/Japan built Schwinns. You'll need to post pictures of the seat lug cluster and the inside of the fork near the crown. Considering there was only 2 or 3 Panny built Schwinns in '88 it shouldnt be to hard to figure out.
