I think you're just recovering from being obsessive-compulsive about your record keeping! :-)

I don't see the point in compulsive record keeping unless you're going to do something with it - and I can't think of anything useful to do with it.

I sometimes keep track (in my head) of how long it took me to get to work because I need to know what to expect time-wise. Sometimes I look at how long I was out biking or what my average speed was, but I never write it down. The only thing I write down is the readings on my speedometers because I like to know how far I biked this year (I don't like to actually compete with bikers, it's just fun to tell non-bikers who (and I quote) "can't believe I bike at night" that last year I biked, say, 2500 miles.

I think you've just become more efficient - you've tried it, but found no benefit to compulsive record keeping.
