I've been asking for an "Equipment & Gear" subforum for years ... to no avail.

I don't think there really needs to be any other subforums than that ... you don't want to break it down too much or there will be no main Road Forum anymore, but I think there are enough equipment and gear questions ("what bike should I get?" "what do you think of these pedals?" "does anyone have any suggestions for gloves?", etc.) to have their own subforum.

In the Bicycling Mag forum, the "Equipment and Gear" forum is called the "Buying" forum and is not a subforum, it's a main forum. Here we might want to make it subforum of the Road forum to address specifically road-type equipment and gear.
