The reason I ask is because there is nothing to "learn" when clipping into SPD's. You just mash on the pedal and you're in. With a LOOK, you have to learn to rotate the pedal, align the cleat, and clip in.
I totally agree that the LOOK has a much more positive "connected" feel, and I totally understand why you prefer this, I'm just suprised to hear you say SPD's are hard to clip into.
I'm not surprised, as I had the same issue. When I was spinning at the gym, I started off with Look cleats (they have the triple system with Look, SPD and cages that clip into the Look side) and then later bought mtb shoes with SPD cleats. I had a much harder time getting into the SPD's than the Looks. It's definitely a different feeling.
