I'll be there. This will be my 4th BA. Compared to Mulholland, more off-road (Jack Rabbit Trail), Oak Glen has some Decker-like steepness, but overall, it's not as bad as Decker.
Damnation Alley doesn't have an equivalent on Mulholland, just sustained, straight (almost) and seemingly infinite, not very interesting climb. Until you get to the big left "U-Turn" at the Forest Falls exit, then it's all good to Angelus Oaks.
From there to the top of Onyx is up and down (but mostly up) to Barton Flats, a 1-mile descent, then a pretty darn cosistant climb, 8 miles, to Onyx Summit. Much more sustained climbing on BA than we had on Mulholland.
On BA the clock stops at Onyx, then it's mostly downhill (except Barton flats, Boy Scout Hill, etc.) all the way into the park at Redlands.
Any questions?
Oh, yeah, for me anyway, BA is easier than Mulholland. Your milage (and pain levels) may vary!
