Well there's your problem! You're supposed to stand on the scale yourself, not use it to weigh your seafood.

The Tanita's are reasonably consistent especially if you take hydration into account, but not that accurate. IIRC the reported BF% numbers go down when I am dehydrated. I weigh myself at the same time each day (before breakfast) to help consistency... if I check after a ride it often reports BF% that's a couple percentage points lower.
