Ever have one of "THOSE" rides ?

I know everyone has had one, I talking about one of " THOSE" rides when everything goes wrong. I was thinking every could share their experiences here about them. Today was my day and I just don't want to feel lonely about having one. I guess I'll start with mine, since it was my idea. Today looked promising, the weather forecast was decent, and I had a couple of recovery days, so I thought that my legs would be up for a good pounding. The planned trip was for 45 miles to get ready for my metric century next weekend. Right off the bat, I knew my legs were still shot from the weight training that I had done this week. Undaunted though, I figured I would push on with what I had. Ten or so miles in, I came up to a stop sign and could not unclip. I ended up falling over on my right side leaving a 6 inch road rash on my mid thigh. I seemed all right, so I kept going. Thirty or so miles in, I stopped at a park to fill up my water bottles. When I got to the fountain, I found out that the water was turned off. I was 15 miles from home and had very little water left. I decided to ration what water I had and get home. With five or six mile left, my legs started to run out of steam big time, so I slowed down to conserve energy for the big hill at the end of the ride. That seemed to work, I had to stand up on part of the hill to make it up, I did not have to get off the bike. The rest of the ride was mostly down hill, so it should have not been a problem. WRONG!!! with 400 yards or so left to go, my left leg cramped up starting at my hip flexor all the way down to the flexor at the back of my knee. At that point I started to pedal with my right leg only while resting my left leg on the pedal. With about 20 yards to go, my right leg was at the edge of cramping, but I finished. I then had to get off the bike to walk it down our gravel road 150 yard.s The walk was painful, but I made it inside where I started to consume lots of water, ate a banana and a little while later a turkey sandwich to refuel. I did get in a nap, so right now I feel better, but am still a little light headed. I know there are worse story out there, so feel free to share yours.
