Last Friday morning I'm on the way to work in a nice spring snowstorm. Coming up on an intersection where railroad tracks cross diagonally right through the center of the intersection, and I have to turn right across them (I pass through this intersection daily, it's less than a block and a half from my house)
I suddenly realize that there's a bus approaching from the right, and I don't even have my lights on... fiddle with the light for the half second or so that it takes to turn it on and... I'm right on top of the tracks!
Hit the wet track, front tire follows the track to the left, and out from under me... I don't have time to think, I just JUMP... bike goes sideways beneath me, I land about a foot in front of it on my feet!
Look up and the bus driver is staring at me (looks sort of like this:

) So I throw both arms into the air and strike a triumphant pose like a gymnast that's just nailed a perfect '10' landing in the Olympics.
Got a big thumbs up (

) from the bus driver!
Thought you'd all get a kick out of the story! Stay safe out there, and watch out for those tracks!
