Noone said it can't be done. If you don't already have shoes and pedals, and aren't going to be a roadie (meaning you don't need to fit in with others), or aren't using your commute to
train for your triathalon, you would be hard pressed to come up with a
single reason to buy road shoes over mountain shoes for a commute.
