2.5 years of use and my tab just broke this past weekend. the 305 does slid in nice and tight and does not move despite no tab. i will be careful crossing waterways though. later.

this is what happened to me too, it broke and it seemed to be in nice and tight enough withought the tab and I believe it would of been if I had not hit it with my hand by mistake.( was trying to save my friend from getting hit by a car while we were crossing a grated bridge off our bikes..friend saw the car before I could call myself a hero, lost the garmin for nothing
sadly, the water had nothing to do with this story.
It's not why I lost it, it's why I couldn't retrieve it.
just be careful trying to "save" people.( specially over water)
