It's one thing to use it to emphasize points, but it's another to put all your notes up there and just recite them for the audience while their eyes glaze over as if they were watching TV.
To me, the fewer slides, the better the Powerpoint. We didn't keep erasing whole chalkboards every twenty seconds, nor did we draw up fifty sheets for an overhead projector -- so why do people insist on throwing all that crap through a projector?
