Same here, I tried on a few shoes and ended up with the specialized comp mtn shoes as well in white, which I did not want but they fit to good to pass up. I pulled out the cardboard insole and put in some $20 gel inserts and as far as flat foot discomforts I have had none. I May need a wedge or 2 for my left foot but that is a different issue, but may well be a problem for you as well. You should try to get to your lbs and get on a trainer, they may see an alignment issue that is putting to much stress on your outer feet.
