Have you tried just buying a new bike and just showing up at home: "Check it out babe, what do you think? You can hang your clothes on it when I'm not using it".
I have to admit this has been the one annoying factor of married life, I can understand purchases that would affect your ability to save or pay your bills but if it doesn't affect either there shouldn't be a problem. She hasn't given me grief over the things I purchased recently since they've been for repairs or adjusting fit, so she's eased up...lol. She's great but when it comes to splurging yeesh.
