For hydration I stick with regular bike bottles in cages. On tour I carry additional water in panniers or on the rack as needed.
Have to agree- except on the camelback. I got into using one when Tandem riding and can't get out of the habit on long rides. I only have the basic one that has a 2 litre sac in it and there is only room for what I can get in the small zip up pocket. Using a Cycling specific -wicking jersey and I never even feel the thing on my back. I still carry a bottle- that contains plain- water and I put the energy drink in the camel back.
