I ALWAYS assume that the violator doesn't know better. My yell, etc. is an attempt at education. Sometimes it creates offensive behaviour, sometimes it creates an apology, sometimes its ignored. I believe at least some percentage of the people will think about how they approach such a violation next time. If I save one accident, its well worth the embarassment.
