Does it say "Challenger," or "Super Challenge"? You might ask over at
Gitane USA as well, just to be sure. They might know if there's a "Challenger" model. The decals are definitely the '84 style, as far as I can tell (the pic is kind of small, so I can't be 100% sure).

the spec page for '84; the Super Challenge is at the entry-level, but for $80, you did good.
