I can go one better than just owning a road bike, I turned my FG into an internally geared road bike.

Motobecane Messenger w/ SRAM S-7 [7 speed] IGH. lots of fun! I'm planning on picking up a Kilo WT(F) when they become available to replace the messenger.

I also have a Raleigh Detour Deluxe "commuter" bike that is geared (w/ 700c wheels, disc brakes, rack, fenders, dynamo lighting, etc.)
I also have a Felt Q720 hardtail mtb that sees almost as much time on the pavement as it does off road.
