I have a vintage road bike with a whopping 10 gears (in total). My other vintage road bikes either predate reliable derailleurs and are either fixed, or ss or came with the option of a 3 or 4 speed IGH.
My 5 speed Dutch bike has a rear derailleur only. I also have an old MTB with gears.
Oh, and of course my two recumbents are geared.
