sort of— pantone/PMS is a method of specifying a colour throughout the design and printing process, but generally it's limited to inks and dyes for offset printing, textiles, and some raw materials (like vinyl). some paint shops are able to use pantone, or may be able to optically match a PMS 333 swatch, but their internal matching system might not directly translate to pantone, which could result in non-matching paint. especially if there are flakes/pearls or a different paint system involved.
