Compact handle bars - I'm a convert

First ride today with some 3T Ergonova Pro bars installed. 20mm less drop, more flare. I also put on a 10mm longer stem. Was never happy with the standard ControlTech bars (CAAD9) and have been riding bullhorns. ControlTech bars were too deep and had no flare.

On the climb I think I need to tilt the bars up a bit as I was a bit 'down' on the hoods. Otherwise fine.

On the descent I was much more comfortable. Low, but not overly so (had to remind myself to sit back a bit and keep some weight on the saddle). The flare is great - no more banging wrists on the top part of the bars.

Shape of bend in the drops is more comfortable and I can get plenty of reach for powerful braking.

I also changed saddles from the standard San Marco Ponza-Lux to a Selle Italia Gel Flite with a cut out. Not uncomfortable, but not sold on it as an improvement yet. However, most guys I chat to say they were not really sure one way or another until after a dozen rides.
