Stress fractures
My girlfriend and I are both in the market for our first road bikes, and this weekend we'll be in Seattle and should hopefully have an opportunity to get a look/ride on a bigger selection than what's available locally. Only problem is, she has a stress fracture on the ball of the big toe on her left foot. She's not on crutches or anything, but walking is painful. She's been advised to stay off it as much as possible and no strenuous activity.
Other than asking her doc about it, are there any suggestions from the BF masses on still getting a few worthwhile test rides in? I thought maybe spinning in a low gear on a trainer to at least give her an idea of how a frame fits, or just pedal with her right leg, but otherwise I don't have any ideas.
