Bikes: BF Pocket Crusoe; B Tikit; dust-gathering MTB

Sunday on a Friday

My new Bike Friday Pocket Crusoe came last Thursday, and Sun-Mon I went for an overnighter: 44 miles each way on the Great Allegheny Trail. All I can say is "wow". The bike carried 25+ pounds of crap on the rear rack/pannier like it wasn't even there. I rode the crushed gravel trail on 1.35" tires, no problems. My config is 8 speed cassette with a 3 speed IGH. I absolutely love the IGH for this kind of ride: the terrain varies little, so I was basically using one or two cogs and switching the IGH as needed.

The bike felt totally solid, yet light and fast. There were no nefarious squeaks or complaints from the bike the whole time. It was quiet and stable. The pics are at the campground, and at the Eastern Continental Divide (kicked my butt riding 25 miles of steady uphill grade from Cumberland, MD, to the Divide).
