Hah, I can beat you all.
I checked North Jersey Craigslist a few days ago, saw nothing. But a little later I checked again, I really don't know why... and now there was a mid 70's Raleigh Competition in my size, 24" or so, in apparently unmolested "needs tires and a tuneup" condition. I don't remember the price, I think $175. I didn't even call. How's that for self control?
May have been my listing, though the Competition in my possession needed some cleaning on the rusted chrome bits and some attention to the paint on the frame. That sale was penance for my own VLW addiction. I traveled about 1.5 hour round trip to look at it, and simply couldn't leave empty handed. I didn't get far on the restoration. Oh, and I didn't really profit from it. Just enough to cover my petrol, time and a small (very small) finder's fee.
