First, I have had exactly the same problem with most sneakers. Adidas has a slim sneaker called "Team" with a harder black sole. It has nearly the stiffness of an old -fashioned touring show. I also have a pair of old fashioned Adidas touring shoes, and a set of Diadora leather-soled cycling shoes with real hard cleats.
