I think the saddle setback is usually found by aligning your knee over the pedal spindle when the arm is horizontal. The longer the femur, the further back the saddle.

Funny coincidence for some time I had been riding a bit forward over the BB. Just yesterday I pushed the saddle back (and lowered it a bit to keep the same leg extension). Can't say if I feel a difference yet.
