Thanks for all the responses. I've collected all my paperwork, and will register the bike with Dynacraft. Maybe they or Target will replace the busted parts, maybe not. I'm not getting my hopes up. I bought the bike from Target "fully assembled." I'm dreading calling them, as my experience shortly after buying the bike wasn't the best. [see
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=477381 ] Unfortunately, the LBS I praised therein has since closed. There's another near me I've used, but it isn't as homey, and seems pricier.
I'd post photos or video, but, as I mentioned in my OP, I'm broke, and don't have the necessary equipment to upload images.
On the good side, I may have a line on a freebie replacement bike, and found a phone # for someone doing repairs via Craigslist.
I chuckle at the idea of doing a fixie conversion. I can barely get up the local hills in granny gear!
Thanks, again, to all.
