A LBS guy who looked over the Trek said I'd need a freewheel remover to work on the rear. The original owner did not mention the special tool sold with Helicomatic hubs, as SB's article describes. Maybe these hubs are better, or maybe or the seller lost/forgot the tool, or maybe the seller was not really the original owner and doesn't know/care. I'll take a closer look this afternoon.
