I missed returning one or two waves due to newbieness. Some Austin roads are bad, and I was just getting used to those skinny tires.
I'm more worried about ditching the ride this morning -- the UT Cycling club had a ride this morning at 7:30am. I'd never been to one, so I thought, why not? So it's 34 degrees and 7:30 and I pass [1] the parking lot -- and it's just one lone poor rider sitting there. It's obviously the club president who emailed a reminder about the ride last night, and I thought that for getting up at 7:30 in the morning and having no regulars show up, she deserved better than having to handhold a rank newbie in the bitter cold at too-early-in-the-morning (especially for students!)
