Great looking bike! Can't wait to see it all prettied up.

The Jubilee long cage rear derailleur would have been original and the front is a replacement - probably good, since Huret front derailleurs were often considered too flexy. The 49D crankset would also have been original and fitted with 42x52 rings... that outer chainguard ring is very uncommon and a great find!

Original freewheel would have been a 14-28... which is a great wide gear range and the most commonly available size in later years. If that feels a bit worn out or gritty it could be easily replaced with a new-old-stock 5-speed Shimano. On eBay they are still commonly found - including this one http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Shimano-5-Sp...mZ220395003099 from a reliable seller I've dealt with before, for only $20. Even a local bike store may still stock them.

The Reynolds 531 tubing means you could also get a better quality seatpost than the straight post with saddle clip. My guess would be around a 26.2 to 26.4 mm. but better check the exact diameter. That's definitely a whole lot better than the terrible 24.0 mm seatpost needed for even a fairly decent level old Peugeot mixte!

With fresh brake pads, those Weinmanns will work about as well as anything you could buy today, and the rear caliper is set up just as it SHOULD be on a mixte style bike... I never liked the option of oddly inverted side-pulls fitted up on the seat stays.

Congratulations!!!!!!
