Despite their literaure and all the hype around them, Thomson seatposts, like anything constructed via CNC, are actually weaker than an equivalent forged aluminum seatpost. You'd do equally well or better with a considerably less expensive seatpost like a Kalloy (gasp!), but then you can't show off your ostentatious spending.
