Didja tighten it with a lockring spanner, or just thread it on and get it as tight as you could with your fingers? Because properly installed, I can't think of a reason why your lockring would come off. I've done rides over 30 miles of chip-seal roads and even that didn't manage to rattle my lockring loose.
