At the same time, I want to buy cheap bike schwag as I don't have money for expensive bike schwag, so it's either a computer or spokey dokes. I ride mostly XC, and paved roads to the trails and back, so it's kind of cool to know how much distance I covered. Actually, the latter, may help scare off random animals that have a habit of suddenly jumping out into the middle of the trail as I am riding at full steam.
After being diagnosed as a diabetic a month and 1/2 ago, I started using my cyclometer to help achieve target distances on a daily basis. The doctor having told me that I am not insulin dependent yet, and if I increase the amount of exercise I get and streamline my diet, I will remain not insulin dependent. When you ride extreme terrain, as I love to do, a target of just 5 miles can seem like 10 miles. So, as I come up on my target, which, by looking down at the cute little numbers in the tiny window, I can continually monitor, I know I'm close to getting home to the ham sandwich I just starved my self for.
I don't use it to increase any amount of Fredness that I am already carrying, although, it does keep snitty little twits at bay.
VDO +15.
Thanks so much.
