The Airborne Valkyrie: Will This Ride Satisfy One's Racing Needs
Hello folks,
I've yet to purchase my new ride. I'm still debating between a TREK 5000 and some sort of lower-priced ti bike.
I've ridden a CAAD 8 r1000, the TREK, and I've swung my leg over an Airborne Valk. All bikes were dynamite; however, not all made me bike-horny. From an emotional perspective, both the TREK and Airborne won me over.
This bike will be used on the weekend for racing, and during the weekdays for long training/rec rides.
I'm confident the TREK will fulfill my needs quite nicely, but the classic tubing of the Airborne is much more exciting to me; however in a racing role, will the Valk get the job done? I'm not a pro, but I'm a fit, competitive rider who likes to think he goes somewhat fast. Oh yeah, I love going up hills.
The Zeppelin would probably be the better bike for me, but I don't like the non-classic look of this machine.
What do you people think? Do you think I will experience buyer's guilt by going with the airborne?
Thanks for you help,
