I just got an older Bianchi that I am going to fix up. Needs new bar tape, a new front tire, and a new tube. I'm going to get some backups to keep in the garage too. What are some good sites to order from? is Bike Tires Direct alright? Water is not really a problem but glass and cacti might be - is it worth it to get those puncture resistant tires or are they a gimmick?

I have aerosol teflon wax for the chain, anything else I need like special tools for the derailer or anything? I've never had a road bike before. I gave it a good wipe down with some rags and soapy water. I need to clean the chain and possibly the gears more thoroughly though.
