. . . past period correct, and why?

I'll start (makes sense since it's my thread).

I will not upgrade my RIH, thats it. why? When I bought the bike it came with
Campagnolo matching patent 74 components. It just doesn't ask for more
than replacing perishable items like tires and bar tape.
The only thing I might do is replace the SR crankset for a Nuovo Record crankset.
The SR crank was commonly chosen as a cost cutting measure in the Netherlands
from what I understand.

That said, none of my bikes are particularly 'collectable' or noteworthy, one has
provenance but it came repainted and so basta*dized the builder wouldn't recognize it, so
I hold no particular affinity to keep them in as original condition as possible.

So where do you draw your personal line?
