I think it is very possible that 4 or 5 of those 7 incidents could have just as well happened to you if you were driving in a car and were even more visible. It is pretty much the norm in residential areas to have folks back out of driveways, or pull out in front of you near intersections, etc. when the person doing this knows that the car or cyclist will slow down to avoid a collision.
You will probably find that to avoid hitting the cars you did not come to a squealing near over handlebar stop, but simply a hard or even moderate slow down. Just as when driving I have to tap the brakes all the time for these type of events.
