Hi brothas-
I'm new to biking and I'm wondering if this bike is worth getting...

This is a Specialized Ground Control, 1996 or 1997 model I think. I upgraded most of the parts with really nice component groups between '03 and '06. I recently bought a new, smaller bike to fit me better (I'm a short guy). The whole thing weighs in at almost exactly 30 lbs.
Here are the upgraded parts:Mavic Crossland wheelset, XT rear derailleur, LX front derailleur, XT cassette(!!), Race Face chainrings, Deore group chain (I think), XT linear pull brakes, '02 Manitou Skareb front fork (80mm travel), Azonic DW riser handlebar (soaks up vibrations pretty well), Azonic Shorty stem(a really nice, but short one; as I said, this bike is just a tad over my size), Deore trigger shifters, Liahona label brake levers which I think are made by Pro-max as they looked identical for that year
Most everything is in good condition, and I cleaned and lubed the drive-train fairly recently, but I would have you know the few problems it has: I wouldn't take the bike off a drop much bigger than a foot, as the frame is relatively old. The rear triangle has a bit of lateral flex to it (a symptom of old age, I think). I dinged the rear rim a while back, and I've included photos of that.
Is an old frame with decent components worth it??
