Chiming in. I used paints known as Createx which is an airbrush fabric/textile paint. It holds up well because the paint is quite flexible. Almost like stretchy rubber when it's cured properly. I'm still trying to decide what to paint on my new Dank back pack which I'm lovin. You can apply with traditional brush or airbrush. I would suggest to gesso some Createx white first, and then paint your colors and details last. As much as Reload's stitching is really good, there's nothing that beats a hand painted piece.
