Have you checked www.thorusa.com? I think he can ship to Canada. You might be able to get a new Dahon Eco D7 within your budget.
Congrats on your Speed P8 find...I bet it's a lot of fun.

I'm going to the same with Downtube, they are close in price on their cheeper models.
I really like the front and rear suspension so my joints don't feel the bumps in the road as much.
