Lightning scares the you know what out of me. If I see a bolt 20 miles off I'm heading for the barn.
I once saw a lightning strike hit the ground right next to my neighbors house while smoking a cig (I have quit). It scared the living day lights out of me. I had never witnessed a strike first hand or one so close. I literally jumped into the air and was swearing outloud after the strike in sheer relief that it didn't hit me. It hit so fast and was so bright and LOUD. What scares me about being hit by lightning is the burns and hearing loss.
