The Breezer Range are their 700c line of bikes. The LBS near my location sells Breezers and the few Breezer owners I've had the opportunity to talk to are really happy with their bikes. The initial cost may seem high, but you virtually get almost everything you need or will use, esp with the top-of-the-line models. It's more like the bikes sold in Denmark or Japan.

Distances shouldn't be a problem if a bike is properly fitted/adjusted for your body. You will be the one that determines are far is enough and when it's time to turn back. May have to change/buy a new saddle if the OEM one is/becomes uncomfortable on longer rides, because everybody's sit bones are different and what level of comfort needed only you would know.

BUT you should test ride whatever bike that interests you, even if you had to drive some distance to an LBS that has the size and model bike you might want to purchase. Then go home to think it over and/or look at/test ride other bikes and compare.
