I've got two B-17's -- one on my every day commuter/tour bike, and the other on a back up (I also have a B-67 that I use on a winter bike here in Madison. As long as the nose it up, it's fine. I started out in '71 on a Brooks B5N (similar to B17 but narrow... stock on my old Dawes); I hated that saddle when I was 15, but I love Brooks now. Much better than the butt cheek pinching gel saddles... more like a hammock for the derrierre. hang with it... the only way to ride.
