It sounds like the recover time will be slow. The PT told me to try a stationary bike to see how that feels. Start off with five minutes and then increase the times slowly. I have been off the bike now for 4 weeks and the bruising has gone away and I am experiencing minimal pain. I still apply heat a few times a day and I do light stretching exercises. I just have to discipline myself to stay off the bike for a while.
