i'm not the one asking a question in this thread, nor am i criticizing the sport or asking people to justify why they do what they do. i don't understand why everyone is getting so defensive about what i have to say. i was merely trying to explain to the OP that people are anal about gear when it comes to cycling, and that has shaped the industry we enjoy so much
