My brother-in-law has a friend who is a chemistry teacher and he says finger nail polish will dissolve carbon fiber. He says to repair a ding in the frame you need to do the following.

Get a can of KRYLON Make It Last Clear Coat Sealant Spray and a stainless steel or ceramic mixing bowl. Spray the krylon into the bowl to a depth of about 1/2 inch. Let this sit for about 30 minutes until it is the proper consistency for application onto the frame. Then use a cotton swab to apply the clear coat to the frame. The cotton is non-reactive with the carbon and the clear coat.
