SLX Crankset installation

Hello,

I just had to replace a LX crank with a SLX, but didn't change the bottom bracket yet, because the one I had is fine. The question I have is the left crank arm on the LX crank had a washer or spacer between it and the bottom bracket, but the SLX didn't come with one and when I tried to use the one from the LX it seems like the crank arm didn't go on the spindle far enough.

Does anyone know if that is need on the SLX? I have ridden it and there is no rubbbing or noise coming from it and it rides super smooth.

Thanks!
